If you have some spare room in your home and are thinking of using it for something creative then you know that there are tons of options available to you to determine the best way to use it. If you are struggling finding ideas there are more than a few tips that you can follow to stoke your inspiration.
- Head to the Art Museum: This may seem a little odd, but heading to an art museum will open your mind to the possibilities of art in your house. Obviously, you may not be able to afford all (or any) of the pieces in the museum, but you can use them as inspiration for what will work in your house. After your visit you can head to the store and get some of the art that can fit in your house.
- Hit the Gym: Say you live in a big city like San Francisco, you can check out the local gyms and get some ideas for a home fitness center. Many people are now spending money to build their own home workout center so they don’t have to worry about making it to the gym every day. Think of it like this, by visiting a gym you will be able to see what weight sets and machines would work well in your space. You may not be able to fit everything you want, but chances are good you can make effective use of your space.
- Visit Your Friends: If you have friends that have used extra space of their own take a visit to their house and see what they used the space for. This may give you good ideas as to what will work and what doesn’t. For example, visiting another “man cave” can give you a practical look at how televisions, furniture and more work out.
Not everyone who has extra space has a solid idea of what they want to do with it. Taking a visit to think out of the box can help you generate good ideas. No matter what you choose, make sure that it fits in with what you want your house to look like.
